Marinelite SC120 Satellite Compass

Marinelite SC120 Satellite Compass

The Satellite Compass SC120 is a high‑precision marine heading and navigation sensor designed for professional vessels that demand reliable performance. With ultra‑accurate heading output, multi‑GNSS support, and dual certification from CCS and DNV, it delivers stable, magnetic‑free directional data to enhance safety and situational awareness at sea.

Ideal for integration with radar, ECDIS, AIS, autopilot, and other bridge systems, the SC120 provides navigators with a dependable heading reference for precise maneuvering, collision avoidance, and improved vessel control.

Technical Information

The Satellite Compass SC120 is an advanced GNSS‑based heading and positioning system engineered for demanding maritime applications. Unlike traditional magnetic compasses, it determines vessel heading by processing satellite signals from multiple constellations including GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, and BeiDou—ensuring accurate and interference‑free orientation data worldwide.

This satellite compass achieves an industry‑leading heading accuracy of 0.2° RMS, delivering precise directional information essential for safe navigation, autopilot systems, and dynamic positioning operations. Its high update rate and sophisticated signal algorithms help maintain stable heading even during rough sea states, rapid turns, and vessel motion.

Certified by both CCS (China Classification Society) and DNV (Det Norske Veritas), the SC120 meets rigorous international standards for marine safety and quality—making it suitable for commercial shipping, offshore vessels, research ships, and other professional applications.

The system includes an antenna unit (SC1201) and a data processing/display unit (SC1200), and supports IEC61162 (NMEA0183) interfaces for seamless integration with onboard navigation electronics. It outputs essential sentences such as heading, position, vessel motion, and ship speed, enabling connection to radar, ECDIS, AIS, autopilot, and other bridge systems.

Built for maritime environments, the SC120 functions reliably over a wide power range and under harsh conditions, with environmental protections that ensure stable operation in high humidity, vibration, and varying temperatures.
