The LT‑4100S GMDSS Certus 100 System is a fully approved maritime satellite communications terminal designed for SOLAS vessels and professional marine operations. Based on the Iridium Certus® 100 network, it delivers 100 % global distress coverage, high‑quality voice channels, IP data connectivity, and essential safety services including Distress Alert, Distress Call, Maritime Safety Information (MSI), SSAS, and LRIT. With a single‑cable installation solution and built‑in GNSS/GPS, the system offers reliable worldwide communication, tracking, and safety compliance.

Technical Information

The LT‑4100S GMDSS Certus 100 System is a professional maritime satellite communication and safety terminal engineered for vessels that require comprehensive global coverage and compliance with international distress safety standards. Powered by the Iridium Certus® 100 satellite network, this system ensures continuous global coverage, including remote sea areas where traditional communication systems cannot reach, supporting full GMDSS operation as mandated by SOLAS for Sea Areas A1, A2, and A3 (and with network coverage also covering Sea Area A4).

Designed and manufactured by Lars Thrane A/S, the LT‑4100S GMDSS System provides essential emergency and safety services including Distress Alert, Distress Call, Maritime Safety Information (MSI), along with Ship Security Alert System (SSAS) and Long Range Identification & Tracking (LRIT) capabilities. In addition to safety services, the system delivers two high‑quality voice channels and IP data connectivity at 22 kbps up / 88 kbps down, enabling reliable routine communication and data transmission.

Installation is simplified through a single coaxial cable connection between the control unit and the antenna unit, which can be run up to 500 m to allow flexible placement and optimal satellite visibility. A built‑in high‑performance GNSS/GPS receiver enables accurate vessel positioning and tracking. The control unit integrates a large TFT display and a web server interface for easy system configuration and maintenance.

The LT‑4100S GMDSS System is fully certified under MED Module B+D and Wheelmark, and complies with relevant international standards for maritime safety communications equipment. With its rugged, marine‑ready design and comprehensive safety coverage, the LT‑4100S is ideal as the primary satellite communication and GMDSS terminal for professional vessels operating worldwide.
