The LXNAV NMEA 2000 T-Connector is a fundamental component used to connect devices to a NMEA 2000 CAN-bus network backbone. It allows marine electronics such as chartplotters, sensors, gateways and instrument displays to be added to the network through a standardized drop connection.

The connector features a three-port design with two female connectors and one male connector arranged at a 0-degree angle, forming the classic “T” shape used in NMEA 2000 network topology. The horizontal connectors extend the backbone cable, while the vertical port is used to attach a drop cable leading to a network device.

In a typical NMEA 2000 installation, multiple T-connectors are linked together to create the network backbone. Each connected device attaches through a drop cable to one of these T-connectors, enabling the network to distribute power and data communication between all connected marine electronics.
