LXNAV CAN Terminator Female

LXNAV CAN Terminator Female

Ensure stable and reliable communication across your marine electronics network with the CAN Terminator Female. This essential component properly terminates your NMEA 2000 backbone, keeping your system running smoothly and preventing data communication errors.

Technical Information

The LXNAV CAN Terminator Female is a critical component used to correctly terminate an NMEA 2000 CAN-bus network backbone. Installed at one end of the backbone, this terminator provides the required bus termination resistance, which ensures stable signal transmission and prevents data reflections within the network.

In a standard NMEA 2000 topology, the network backbone must be terminated at both ends using two terminators—typically one male terminator and one female terminator. These terminators maintain proper electrical impedance across the CAN-bus network, allowing reliable communication between connected marine electronics such as chartplotters, sensors, gateways, and instrument displays.

The CAN Terminator Female connects directly to the final T-connector at the end of the backbone and is fully compatible with standard NMEA 2000 Micro-C connectors. Its compact design allows easy installation in marine environments while ensuring the network operates within NMEA 2000 specifications.

By correctly terminating the network, this component helps maintain signal integrity, network stability, and reliable data exchange across your vessel’s marine electronics system.
