The LT-3100 Iridium Satellite Communications System is a professional maritime communication solution designed to provide global voice, SMS, and data connectivity using the Iridium satellite network. Engineered for both commercial and leisure vessels, the system includes a control unit, handset, and antenna unit for reliable ship-to-shore communication anywhere in the world. With a high-performance GNSS/GPS receiver, vessel tracking capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity, and a built-in web server, the LT-3100 ensures dependable communication and easy system management even in demanding marine environments.
The LT-3100 Iridium Satellite Communications System is a high-performance maritime satellite communication solution designed to provide reliable connectivity for vessels operating anywhere in the world. Built by Lars Thrane, the system uses the Iridium satellite network, delivering truly global coverage for voice, messaging, and data services. This ensures vessels remain connected even in remote ocean regions where traditional communication systems are unavailable.
The LT-3100 system consists of three main components: a control unit, handset unit, and antenna unit. A single coaxial cable connects the antenna to the control unit, allowing installation distances of up to 500 meters, giving installers flexibility to mount the antenna in the best possible position with a clear line of sight to satellites.
Designed for professional maritime use, the system supports voice calls, SMS messaging, Short Burst Data (SBD), modem data services, and vessel tracking. These capabilities make it suitable both as a primary satellite communication system and as a backup communication solution for safety and operational needs at sea.
The LT-3100 also includes a high-performance GNSS/GPS receiver, enabling accurate vessel positioning and tracking. Tracking data can be transmitted via SBD, SMS, or email, allowing fleet operators and vessel owners to monitor vessel locations and activity remotely.
For enhanced connectivity and system management, the control unit features Bluetooth connectivity and an integrated web server for configuration, monitoring, and maintenance. The system also supports external SIP handsets, smartphone connections, and compatibility with various maritime email and satellite communication services.
Built for harsh marine environments, the LT-3100 operates reliably within temperatures from −25°C to +55°C and features a rugged antenna unit with IP67 protection, ensuring long-term durability in demanding offshore conditions.
With its flexible installation, global satellite coverage, and comprehensive communication capabilities, the LT-3100 Iridium Satellite Communications System provides vessels with a dependable and efficient communication solution for modern maritime operations.
